On December 28th I purchased product from ULTA under false pretenses. Upon paying for my product the cashier said that if I applied for a credit card my purchase would be 20 percent off. I declined saying I would probably not be approved nor did I use credit cards. She insisted touting the 20 percent discount. Saying I probably would be approved. She had me feel out a lot of personal information on a screen on the counter in front of me. After I was all rung up she then asked for my credit card. Yesterday I came home to find a credit card bill along with a 20 plus dollar service charge. At no time during this transaction did the cashier tell me that in order to get the 20 percent discount that day I would have to pay for my purchase with the credit card. If she had I would have declined the credit card. Now I don’t know if it is your policy to deceive consumers into getting credit cards without giving them all the information especially when it comes to there hard earned money but whatever your objectives this was clearly false advertisement of your credit card services. I am very upset and dissappoointed. Jay in guest services was able to remove the finance charges but I believe under this deceitful practice I should not have to, what I feel like, pay again. That was over several months ago. I do not go over my bank account with a fine tooth comb. That money is long gone and not in my budget now. Stephanie at the store I purchased it from said I could get a refund if I bought the used product back which makes no sense because either way you would suffer a 30 plus dollar loss. I’m the mis informed customer, why should I have to suffer because of this misrepresentation. For me this has been a terrible experience.
